On Saturday, April 25, 2015 Comcast hosted its Comcast Cares Day at our Northeast Frankford Boys & Girls Club. The annual day of service includes the Comcast employees, families, friends, and local community leaders celebrating their year-round commitment to service and the community. Rebuilding Together Philadelphia and Scripps Network joined Comcast in its efforts to provide a safe, clean and fun place for the youth of Philadelphia to go each day after school.
In addition to providing hands-on support through volunteerism, Comcast donated $25,000 to support additional transformations of our Clubs!
“Comcast Cares Day is a shining example of how our employees, family members, friends and community partners all come together with a similar goal of creating a positive, lasting impact in our communities,” said David L. Cohen, Executive Vice President, Comcast Corporation. “I am proud to join the tens of thousands of volunteers who will help improve our neighborhoods, making a positive difference in the lives of others.”
Hundreds of volunteers helped clean, paint and make minor repairs inside the Northeast Frankford Boys & Girls Club and remove litter, build planting beds and landscape the property surrounding the Club. In addition to handiwork, volunteers renovated the Club’s computer lab into a modern digital literacy center in conjunction with Comcast’s My.Future technology initiative.
