Annual Report FY17

Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia provides a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals, life-enhancing programs and character development experiences, and hope and opportunity for thousands of Philadelphia’s youth each year. We strive to further our impact by enacting a Bold Change for the kids of Philadelphia.

Program Expansion & Successes


  • Opened our first full-service Kids Café at the Wissahickon Club, serving home cooked meals to 160 kids daily
  • Completed renovations to create a new Literacy Center, Art Studio, Teen Lounge, Tech Lounge, and Junior Lounge at the Northeast Frankford Club
  • Introduced the new DIY STEM program at two Club locations
  • Expanded year-round programming from 6 to 8 Philadelphia Housing Authority partnership sites

Fiscal Sustainability


  • In May 2017, we hosted our fifth annual Philly Showcase of Wine, Cheese & Beer, raising over $1.7 million and attracting more sponsors and vendors than ever before!
  • Our Bold Change for Kids Campaign has raised over $13 million to bring hope and opportunity to Philadelphia’s kids and communities. So far, we have invested over $1.5 million into remodeling the Northeast Frankford and Bridesburg Clubs, even while continuing to raise funds
