CLUB Service is a program especially designed with AmeriCorps to recognize our members who excel in serving their Clubs and communities. CLUB Service provides educational awards to members ages 17 and 18, and Club alumni ages 19-24, helping them pursue higher education opportunities and encouraging them to find future careers as Club professionals.
Knowledge is power and Project Learn is force throughout all our Clubs that seeks to reinforce and enhance the skills and knowledge young people learn at school. Club staff create opportunities to “learn through fun” with high-yield learning activities such as leisure reading, games of Scrabble, writing activities, and group discussions. Project Learn also encourages collaboration between our Club staff, parents, and school personnel to create the best learning environment for our members.
Homework is a part of every child’s life. POWER HOUR helps our Club members become self-directed learners by providing tutoring, mentoring, and encouragement.
JOB READY! helps our members ages 15-18 get a competitive edge in the job market. The teens learn how to identify job opportunities, write resumes, interview, dress appropriately, and develop good work habits. Career Prep focuses on providing support for teens before and during employment, teaching them maturity and self-sufficiency.
Some members want to give back to the Clubs by entering into a career of youth or human services. This program assists members ages 11-18 in exploring such a career, especially within the Boys & Girls Clubs network.
