Philadelphia, PA, July 7, 2005—
Today 42 interns from Philadelphia’s top audit and risk recovery firm KPMG volunteered with the Germantown Boys & Girls Club summer camp. The afternoon was spent playing low impact sports with our 268 campers. The interns jumped right in and played touch football, volleyball, and kickball, with our campers. Some even gave several of our youngster piggyback rides. This was a fun-filled afternoon, which later resulted in a football game between the Germantown staff and KPMG interns. It was a blast! Everyone had a great time watching and/or participating in the game. We appreciate the much needed services that KPMG extends to us in their outreaching efforts with community-based organizations such as the Boys & Girls clubs. It gives our children the exposure needed to enhance their social skills with people from all walks of life. This is only the second summer that the interns came to volunteer their time with our campers, however we look forward to their future visits in summers to come.
