Deloitte volunteers at Germantown Boys & Girls Club
Volunteer Employees from Deloitte spruce up Germantown Boys & Girls Club.

Philadelphia, PA, June 3, 2005— Tens of thousands of professionals from the Deloitte Touché firm volunteered around the world during the first two weeks of June. They joined forces to make an impact on the nonprofit organizations within the communities. This national event known as IMPACT DAY took place in over 20 countries from Australia to Zimbabwe.

More than 20 volunteers came out to the Germantown Boys & Girls club on Friday June 3, 2005. Well equipped with donated materials, and a continental breakfast for everyone present they gave our gymnasium and auditorium a new face with a thorough cleaning and polyurethane job. While a group worked on our floors several others painted two bathrooms, and the second floor hallway. They were so enthused they decided to take the extra step and paint the gymnasium as well. Two very brave men climbed a 15’ ladder to scrap and paint the kitchen ceiling that suffered water damage from the previous month. There was a power outage in the earlier part of the afternoon, and they continued to complete their tasks.

According to Deloitte and Touché, “IMPACT DAY reinforces the global organization’s overall commitment to community”. The Germantown Boys & Girls Club appreciates Deloitte and Touche’s commitment to our communities. We are ecstatic to receive them each time they come to assist our club home, making it a greater place for our children and families.
