High Trek Adventure
is an urban adventure game where teams of two solve clever clues to find hidden
checkpoints and face exciting challenges using only public transportation and
foot!
WALNUT CREEK, Calif., April 3, 2008 - Building upon
its local success of engaging competitors in an urban adventure race that tests
both the mind and body, High Trek Adventure is set to launch a ten-city
national urban race series. After great success in 2006 and 2007, High Trek
Adventure will travel to ten major cities across the United
States starting in Philadelphia on April 26. The other cities include: Boston, Chicago, New York City,
Portland, Rochester, NY, Sacramento, Seattle, San Francisco, and Washington, DC.
High Trek Adventure will test participants in these areas to solve clues and face challenges and ultimately
win the adventure race in the wilderness of our city landscape.
During each event, teams will be led through an exhilarating urban adventure
race that High Trek Adventure promises to deliver. They will be asked to answer
an eclectic group of questions – from pop culture to math equations (nothing too
complex) – in order to be led to a checkpoint. The urban adventure participants
will also be asked to complete exciting challenges along the way – from
throwing a strike in bowling to listening and naming a song title or artist to
matching a food item to its name. At each checkpoint, teams will take a picture
of themselves. Teams must repeat the process of solving clues, finding
checkpoints, and taking a picture at a total of 10 locations. The checkpoints
are accessible to the general public, including store fronts, statues, plaques,
art pieces located on public grounds, and other outdoor locations. Teams are
only allowed to travel by foot or public transportation to each checkpoint.
The first team to return to the race headquarters and successfully solve all the clues
and challenges is declared the winner. The winning team will be awarded two
round trip tickets on Southwest Airlines. Runner-up prize is a messenger bag
courtesy of Timbuk2. High Trek Adventure will give away over $1,000 in prizes.
The Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia is the
official charity of High Trek Adventure Philadelphia. High Trek Adventure will
donate $5 of each registration to this worthy organization. The Boys and Girls
Club of Philadelphia enables all young people, especially those who need us
most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
High Trek Adventure’s 2008 urban adventure race series will be held in the
following cities with dates: Boston, May 10; Chicago, September 13; New York
City, June 23; Philadelphia, April 26; Portland, OR, August 9; Rochester, NY,
June 7; Sacramento, October 4; San Francisco, August 23; Seattle, July 12, and
Washington, DC, September 20.
In addition to its national urban adventure game tour, High Trek Adventure can
be used by corporations for annual company outings, team building
opportunities, ice breakers, as rewards for employees and private parties such
as birthday, retirement, bachelor/bachelorette. High Trek Adventure can be
easily customized including location, date, number of checkpoints, timeframe,
and level of difficulty to ensure it fits each company’s corporate culture.
