Philly Fight Night

Fighting for Philly Kids, a non-profit organization established by Wharton MBA students, has raised $40,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia during its Philly Fight Night. Wharton student, Chris King-Sidney, is presenting a check to Jeffrey Waldron, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia.

Philly Fight Night, an amateur boxing competition, was held on February 23, 2008 at the Legendary Blue Horizon Arena in North Philadelphia, bringing together students and alumni of the Wharton Business School and University of Pennsylvania Law School. This year’s event was attended by a record 1,250 students, alumni, friends and family. Through sponsorships and ticket sales, $40,000 was raised for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia.

Fighting for Philly Kids mission is to provide unique opportunities to the youth of Philadelphia that will allow them to recognize their many talents and potential. Fighting for Philly Kids would like to thank its Platinum and Gold sponsors: The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Wharton Graduate Association, iStar Financial, Takkle.com, Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP, Proskauer Rose LLP, Cozen O’Connor, and Raymour Flanigan Furniture.
