On January 21, 2007, Wissahickon, Nicetown, and Germantown Boys & Girls Clubs
attended a special Philadelphia 76ers event and game at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.
Before the game, Boys & Girls Clubs preschoolers,
school-aged children and teens, along with 30 adult chaperones and staff, were
treated to a "behind the scene" tour of "Arenavision", SportsNet TV’s control
room and courtside. Afterwards, 76ers mascot Hip-Hop hosted an autograph
session with his energetic entertainment squad, the "Hare Raisers" and held a
fun DJ dance contest for kids to show off their moves.
"Our enthusiastic guests thoroughly enjoyed all the stadium
concessions that were provided,”said Jane Slivko-Ament, Marketing Manager for
AT&T’s wireless operations in Philadelphia. Club staff admits that the kids fittingly
brought healthy appetites, munching on all the delicious snacks laid out for
them. "This event was our inaugural community outreach with Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia. Thanks to our
partners at the WachoviaCenter and the 76ers, the
children enjoyed an exclusive event outing and actually saw and did a lot more
than a regular ticket holder,” added Slivko-Ament.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia extends its sincerest thanks to AT&T’s wireless unit, formerly Cingular
Wireless (www.cingular.com) as
well as to the Wachovia Center and the Philadelphia 76ers for a funfilled event!
