BGCA Unveils "Boys & Girls Clubs Day for Kids"
Created as a day to foster stronger relationships between adults and children, the mission of Boys & Girls
Clubs Day for Kids is to establish a nationally recognized day to celebrate and honor American children through
the gift of shared time. Research shows that when adults spend worthwhile time with kids, it helps them develop
a positive self-image and a sense of belonging, usefulness and purpose. Now, more than ever, Boys & Girls
Clubs Day for Kids provides adults and kids an opportunity to take a break from their busy lives and celebrate
the wonder of children and the fulfillment of spending time together.
While the national event has been moved to September 16, 2006, Boys & Girls Clubs of
Philadelphia will continue its tradition, also holding special events on Friday, August 4, 2006.
Join our campers that day at Hatfield Field at North 18th Street & Hunting Park Avenue, across from the
Nicetown Club, for staff-run kids' activities from late morning through mid-afternoon. There will be sports,
dance, arts and crafts - truly something for every child and adult. No reservations are required, and please
feel free to invite your friends to bring their children as well.
