The first Philadelphia club, founded in 1887, the Germantown Club has endeavored to become a community resource by helping children and youth from disadvantaged circumstances to develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. The Germantown Boys & Girls Club has a state licensed child care center for children ages two through five. This program was designed to meet the developmental needs of children by providing a creative curriculum learning experience. Germantown’s after-school program offers structured fun and learning in a safe and nurturing environment. We offer five core areas of programming which meet the diverse needs and interests of all members. Our programs were designed to promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.
Our core areas of programming are:
  • Character & Leadership: empowers youth to support and influence their club and community

  • Education & Career Development: tenables youth to develop aspirations for the future

  • Health & Life Skills: develops young people's capacity to achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles

  • The Arts: helps young people develop self-expression and creativity

  • Sports, Fitness & Recreation: encourages youth to develop: fitness and positive use of leisure time
